Fredric M. Hirsh, M.D.

Dr. Fredric M. Hirsh is the senior member of the Highgate Medical Group.  He is Board Certified in family medicine receiving his initial certification in 1977 and has been continuously re-certified every six years since that time.  He is a diplomat of the American Academy of Family Practice.  Dr. Hirsh currently working at our Williamsville office on Tuesday’s, Thursday’s and Friday’s and our Lockport office on Monday’s.  Dr. Hirsh is accepting new patients by request at both locations.

Dr. Hirsh received a bachelor's at the State University of New York at Buffalo, a master’s degree at the University of Georgia and his MD degree at SUNY at Buffalo.  He completed his internship in family medicine at Deaconess Hospital in 1974.  He completed his residency program at Deaconess Hospital, Department of Family Medicine in 1976 where he served as Chief Resident.

Dr. Hirsh maintains teaching appointments at the University and the Department of Family Medicine where he serves as Clinical Associate Professor.  He actively teaches medical students and residents.  

Dr. Hirsh is committed to community affairs.  He has served on the Board of the Kaleida Hospital system where he presently serves as Associate Medical Director for patient management.  He is a past President of the Independent Practice Association of Western New York.  He has been instrumental in the development of many community programs, including Night Call of Western New York and the initial Quality Management Awards from the Independent Health Association.  He has served on the Steering Committee of Western New York Medical Consortium.  He presently serves on the Finance Committee of the Kaleida Health System.  He has served as the Chairman of the Physicians Division of the United Jewish Fund Campaign for over 10 years.

In 2005, Dr. Hirsh received the Golden Stethoscope Awards from the American Academy of Family Practice.  This award commemorates his career of commitment to patients and the community.
